It's all about Lil Wayne this week. The question wasn't if Weezy would take the number one spot, it was how he would take that top slot. Weezy slammed the competition with a staggering 1,005,545 copies sold of Tha Carter 3. This number eclipses the 957k that Kanye West's Graduation pulled in back in September. A big congratulations to Lil Wayne.

Not to be outdone, Plies shocked the world by pushing 214k copies of his sophomore album, Definition Of Real, to secure the #2 slot. Usher still stands tall at #5 while N.E.R.D. debuts impressively at the seven hole with Seeing Sounds selling just a shade under 80k.

Elsewhere on the charts, Mariah Carey hits the platinum plateau as E=MC2 clocks in another 27k units to push the total to 1,024,861. Bun B is still making noise with little promotion as his II Trill album lands at the #29 spot with just under 20k sold. The Flobots are surprisingly still hanging around the top 50 as Fight With Tools slips into the #37 slot with 16,000 sold. Weezy's protege, Tyga, makes his debut further down the charts with No Introduction landing at the #112 spot with 6,787 sold.

Can Lil Wayne keep the momentum going in his second week? With release from G-Unit, Nas and Game around the corner, will Wayne have competition on the charts? Keep it tuned to DX to see how things play out.
